Kimberly Desiree Otis of Hughes Springs was arrested for Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest.

Case #2505-00106: On the evening of May 9th, 2025, Lone Star Police observed a vehicle parked at the bridge on S. Main Street in Lone Star. As the officer attempted to make contact with the driver, the vehicle started to drive off and the suspect identified as KIMBERLY DESIREE OTIS ran from the vehicle on foot. The officer instructed Otis to wait while contact was made with the driver of the vehicle.

Otis reportedly walked from a bar on Lake O' the Pines to where LSPD encountered her and the vehicle.  The occupants of the vehicle left the bar on motorcycles to get a car from their residence so they could give Otis a ride home since her husband left her at the bar.  The couple returned to the bar and found Otis had left.  They found her walking on S Main Street and attempted to pick her up and take her home.

She refused a ride and began to run from the car when LSPD encountered the situation.  Otis appeared intoxicated to the point she was a danger to herself or others and was placed under arrest for PUBLIC INTOXICATION, a Class C Misdemeanor.  As officers attempted to secure her in a patrol unit, she became combative and resisted attempts from multiple officers to load her into the patrol car.  She was additionally charged with RESIST ARREST SEARCH OR TRANSP, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Otis was booked into the Morris County Jail without further incident.  The Lone Star Police Department extends gratitude for the assistance from Morris County Sheriff's Office, Daingerfield Police Department, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden.
