Two suspects arrested in Daingerfield after wrecking out in high-speed pursuit.

Case #2507-00141:  On July 3rd, 2025, at approximately 4:30pm, Officers with the Lone Star Police Department, along with Morris County Sheriff Deputies and Daingerfield Police, assisted the Texas Department of Public Safety with a pursuit that began on in Avinger.

A DPS Trooper attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, a 2022 Chevrolet Malibu, on SH 155 when the pursuit began.  The Trooper stayed with the vehicle to US 259 just north of Ore City.  When the suspect vehicle turned north on US 259, Morris County Sheriff Dispatch alerted officers and deputies to respond.

A Morris County Sheriff unit joined the pursuit just south of Lone Star, and three Lone Star Police units joined the pursuit on S. Main Street as it came through the city.  As the pursuit left the city continuing north on US 259, Daingerfield Police was alerted.

The Trooper, Deputy, and Police continued pursuing the vehicle in speeds that exceeded 120MPH into Daingerfield.  Another DPS Trooper deployed a spike strip just north of the Daingerfield High School.  Daingerfield Police secured the intersection of Linda Dr. and Watson Blvd. causing the pursuit to safely continue east on SH 49 towards Hughes Springs.  It was at that time in the pursuit that traffic was light enough and the suspect vehicle slowed to speeds safest to attempt a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT maneuver).

The Trooper successfully caused the suspect vehicle to break traction, but the suspect was able to recover.  A Lone Star Officer and Morris County Deputy made another attempt causing the vehicle to spin out over the raised median and into oncoming traffic in the west-bound lane.  The DPS Trooper was able to keep the momentum going and spun the suspect vehicle into the ditch.

The driver, BRYAN SCOTT MAYFIELD, and passenger, AARON LAMAR JACKSON, both of Tyler, Texas, were arrested and taken to the hospital to be medically cleared before being taken to jail.  JACKSON had an active warrant for his arrest out of Smith County.  Both suspects have pending charges from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

A DPS, Morris County, and Lone Star patrol vehicle sustained minor damages, but were drivable.
